Hey crew,

After a miserable show this July, which you can read all about here, I realized (and this is a lesson I apparently keep having to learn) that for me, standup needs to be FIRST about having fun and SECOND about making people laugh. Because if you mess up number one, you have no chance at nailing number two.

It’s hard for people to relax and laugh in your presence when they sense your inner awkward seventh grader is running the show. (I think this applies to life off the stage, too.)

So I’ve been working hard on letting go of trying to be amazing and instead focusing on staying relaxed and having fun onstage, no matter what’s going on in the audience.

I have a few dates on the calendar in the next few weeks… I might not be funny and you might not laugh but I WILL HAVE FUN, DAMMIT. Compelling, right?

Open Mic (ongong)

Speaking of having fun, it’s been a lot of fun hosting an open mic at Casseopeia, a Boulder coffee shop and velo spa, where we do comedy every 1st and 3rd Wednesday. Admission is free and vibes are friendly.

The next one is this Wednesday 9/17 and I’d love to see you there!
